Drunk Like Me
This website supplements the book, Drunk Like Me, the story of my brother, Doug. He had a good life until alcohol ruined it. The book tells his story. The website posts photos – and some supplemental content.

The Early Years
Doug was Different.
Throughout the book, That characterization repeats itself. From when he refused to give up thumb-sucking as an infant to the time he and friends tried smoking and beer, and the time he was a greaser but different…

The Army Years
Being drafted to the army and sent to Viet Nam – for most of us that would be bad. But Doug was different. Drafted for a two-year term, he applied for OCS (Officer Candidate School), extended his term to three years, and gained a commission as 1st Lieutenant.
The army was good for him at the time and then much later…

The Good Years
The army gave him money for college, credentials as a successful leader. He didn’t finish college but did launch a 17-year career at Michigan Bell and AT&T.
He climbed the corporate ladder and established himself as a top manager. He played golf – the photo is with PGA Pro Al Geiberger. He lived in a fancy home, drove fancy cars.
Not so good – his three marriages ended badly.

The Bad Years
While at AT&T he celebrated his success with fine food and alcohol.
Alcohol got hold of him, cost him his job at AT&T, cost him, well, everything. The book has a sad ending.
